I’m a proud Métis woman and mother of four. Now that my children are older and more independent, I felt it was time to take a path of my own, one rooted in purpose and community.

Enrolling in the Indigenous Health Support Worker Diploma at Yellowhead Tribal College changed my life. YTC became more than a place to learn, it became a place of healing. As someone who carried the weight of intergenerational trauma, I found strength, connection, and growth through the support of instructors, Elders, staff, and classmates.

During my time in the program, I completed my practicum at an Indigenous group home for youth. I was hired immediately after and, within six months, promoted to Team Leader Assistant. I’m proud to share that I’ve recently been promoted again, this time to Team Lead.

Now continuing in the First Nations Health Administration Degree program, I’m grateful for how far I’ve come here at Yellowhead Tribal College.
