Program Description
The Adult Basic Education program utilizes a holistic approach to education. The program assists in the development of basic academic and social skills necessary to achieve self-sufficiency and prepare for secondary and post-secondary education and/or employment.
Entrance Requirements
All applicants must complete:
- An academic assessment test
- An application for the College
- A Career Investigation Search
- An interview with the Program Coordinator
Sponsorship funding is the responsibility of the applicant. Please inquire at the College for information about sponsorship availability.
Successful candidates must be prepared, motivated and able to learn.
Courses offered in the program are:
- Literacy Level 70 (Grades 1 - 5 inclusive)
- Intermediate Level 80 (Grades 6 - 9 inclusive)
- Health/Life Skills 70/80
- Math 70/80
- English 70/80
- Computers 70/80
- Aboriginal Studies 70/80
- Cree 70/80
- Art 70/80
This is a ten month program beginning in September and ending in June. The first semester runs September 1st until January 31st; the second semester runs February 1st until June 30th.
