Indigenous Social Work Diploma
Yellowhead Tribal College plans to deliver an Indigenous Social Work Diploma program commencing on September, 2017. The program will be delivered either through University Blue Quills or YTC if it’s submission to the ACSW is approved for a September 2017 delivery. It is a specialized diploma that applies Indigenous Knowledge and Pedagogies to Social Work practice. Graduates of this program qualify for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers and employment in most Social Work areas.
Mode of Delivery
The YTC Indigenous Social Work diploma program is a full-time 2 year program delivered over 3 academic semesters from Mondays to Fridays for 10 months of each year (September to the end of June).
Program Entry Criteria
All applicants must complete and submit an Indigenous Social Work Diploma package which can be printed from the YTC website or picked up at YTC. Students must also complete a YTC application and submit the required application fee. All the program criteria are listed in the package. Please note: students WITHOUT English 30-1 can apply, but must upgrade their English by the start of the Indigenous Social Work Program.
Program Admission Deadlines
For the September 2017 intake, YTC will be accepting applications and documents until Friday, May 12, 4:30 pm. If all required documents are not submitted by this date, the application will be closed and considered incomplete. For further information on the program, please contact:
